Mark
started his involvement with West Wales when
he came to watch the league's inaugural season
opening tournament in 1997, and then ended
up refereeing the whole day!
After attending High School near Chicago in
1991, Mark was one of the founder members of
the Carmarthen Basketball Club in 1993.
While studying at U.W. Newport, from 1996-98,
he restarted the University Basketball programme
as well as playing for Newport town in both
the South Wales Coast and West of England leagues.
On returning to Carmarthen he assisted Coach
Bob Dowdeswell and became Club Secretary, later
becoming Chairman of the West Wales League.
During this time Mark also
played for Beddau, under Coach Wayne Jones,
where in the 1999-2000 season he scored his
career high of 37 against the Cardiff Clippers.
Between 2005 & 2007 he returned to coach U.W.
Newport where they won the 2006 BUSA Western
Division B title.
Mark has continued to play for Carmarthen throughout
this time and last year coached the team in
the reformed West Wales League where they regained
their title as the most dominant team in the
region. He will continue to coach Carmarthen
during 08/09 where they plan to repeat as champions.
Currently Mark serves as the Junior Head
Coach where he hopes to build on the success
of last season where the Under 18 team won
both the South Wales Valleys league title and
Knock-Out Cup.
